Project "Europe-LAND" annual meeting in Coimbra
The annual meeting of the European research project “Towards Sustainable Land-Use in the Context of Climate Change and Biodiversity in Europe (in short: Europe-LAND)” took place between June 20th and 21st at the Department of Life Sciences - University of Coimbra. Project partners met to discuss the progress made so far and the next steps of the project as the one year milestone was reached. The Estonian University of Life Sciences was represented by professor Valdo Kuusemets
On the first day EU officer gave a keynote speech, focusing on the importance of policy developments for the project work and sharing project outputs publicly. The heads of the work packages then gave an overview of their work to date and answered questions. The second day focused on special parallel sessions, aligning workflows between work packages
Europe-LAND's main objective is to develop, test, and implement integrated tools to improve our understanding of the factors underlying European land-use decisions. Additionally, Europe-LAND aims to deepen the awareness and involvement of different agricultural and land-use management actors regarding climate change and biodiversity challenges.
